Following DTS' exit from Intel Challenge Super Cup 8, ICSC referee Pavel Yakubovsky comments on the matter.
DTS earlier today announced they would no longer take part in ICSC 8, following a decision that went against them whilst playing Moscow Five.
ICSC referee Pavel Yakubovsky addresses the decision in the match against Moscow Five:
"In the match between DTS vs M5, DTS wanted to play at their server, where they had average advantage at ping 15. But M5 gives the server where average difference in ping was 4, in favor of M5. 2 players of DTS had 63 ping, and 3 players 44-53. M5 had average ping 51. So it was optimal server for the game. But DTS lied to me before match and show the ping of 2 players 70-90. We agreed to play 1 half on this server, 2nd of theirs.
But when I started the match, pings of the 2 players (with 70-90 ping) dropped to 63, so this server becomes optimal for game and I did not see reason to change it on the other side. Ultimately DTS disagreed to play 2nd half of match on this server and I gave victory for M5. Today DTS remember this game and issued an ultimatum or they play 2nd half of match against M5 on their server, or stop playing at ICSC. I tell them that they can stop playing but they never will play at our leagues again, or will pay a fine.
It is the second event where DTS talk about errors of referees, but they forget that there are rules of which are based on the referees in making its decisions. If the referee of fnatic's cup put to both teams startmoney 5000, then he did it because those are the rules, if I said that we should play on that server, because here the best ping, this is because those are the rules. If they do not like the rules they should abandon the tournament before it starts."
You can check the pings yourself by viewing this screenshot, which was taken two rounds into the match.
We now have both sides of the story, the fact is DTS will not be playing in ICSC 8, whether they will in the future is currently unknown.
